Ashland, Ore. — If you’re seeing smoke near Ashland, it’s another controlled burn.

The 20-acre prescribed burn on Ashland Loop Road scheduled for Tuesday is expected to provide experience for the Ashland Prescribed Fire Training Exchange.

There’s another burn scheduled for Wednesday at the White Rabbit Trailhead in the Ashland Forest Resiliency Stewardship Project.

Ashland Loop Road at Morton Street, Caterpillar Trail, and Alice in Wonderland Trail will be closed Tuesday and Thursday.
Jabberwocky will remain open to allow bike traffic from Four Corners into the city.

The City of Ashland said residents will likely see and smell smoke, especially in the evening hours. Those who are sensitive to smoke are urged to close their windows and use air conditioners to reduce exposure.
