Brookings, Ore. – The Brookings Police Department responded Tuesday to a report of a dead woman near the Dot Martin Bridge/Chetco River Bridge.
Police said when officers arrived on scene they determined that the woman was in fact deceased. The Curry County Major Crimes Team was activated.
The victim was identified by police as 51-year-old Brookings resident Tammy Lee Montgomery. Officers said Montgomery was homeless.
BPD said the death is being treated as suspicious pending the outcome of an autopsy.
