Suspicious package outside Medford Police Headquarters

Medford, Ore — Holly Street between 8th and 10th was shut to traffic while Medford Police investigated a ‘suspicious package’ before 9am Friday Morning.

Lt. Kerry Curtis with MPD says officers spotted the bag outside the Police Department car park where many of the department’s patrol and SWAT vehicles are kept.

Oregon State Police Bomb Squads were called and were able to determine with x-ray that the bag was not dangerous.

A review of surveillance footage showed a woman placing the bag near the entrance to the car park. Police interviewed her and do not plan to press any charges.

Traffic and operations returned to normal by 9am.
