SWAT operation in rural Jackson County

UPDATE: 11 pm –

Jackson County, Ore., — There are multiple structures on the property so it is unknown exactly how many people are involved.

Sheriff Corey Falls says, “Right now we have several of our detectives on scene following up on the investigation, and we think we have everyone contained, so I don’t think there’s any threat to the community.”

Sheriff Falls did say they are talking to several people they believe could be connected to his death.

But it is still unknown if there are any suspects in custody at this time.

The name and age of the deceased man has not been released either.

The investigation will continue through the night.

Jackson County, Ore. — A SWAT operation is underway in rural Jacksonville. NBC5 News has been told one person is dead.

Details are scarce at this time but we can tell you that one person was shot and killed at a residence on the 7200 block of Thompson Creek Road, near Williams.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area around 3:30.

They told NBC5’S Nicole Stein that 4 people were still inside the home where the victim was shot. The nature of the shooting is unknown.
