Talent’s new Police Chief

Talent, Ore. — The City of Talent has a new chief and he’s a familiar face in the Rogue Valley.

At a city council meeting city administrators introduced Chief Curtis Whipple as the new top cop in town.

Whipple started his law enforcement career as a patrol officer in 1989 in Rogue River eventually making his was to the Central Point and Medford Police departments before taking the Chief position in Talent.

“Knowing that all the individuals that have mentored you through your career have shown up to help you with this and knowing if you have any questions they’re always there for you, it’s an incredible feeling,” said Chief Whipple.

Chief Whipple will assume command of the police department when current Chief Mike Moran retires on Friday.
