Boom in air travel continues

MEDFORD, Ore. — The Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport is continuing to smash local travel records this summer.

In the month of July, nearly 106,000 passengers traveled through MFR.

It’s about an 18 percent increase over last year.

Additional flights throughout the week for summer months and larger aircraft are leading to the boom in air travel, which means you’ll want to show up early.

“It’s really important that our travelers get to the airport at least 2 hours prior to boarding….that way they can get through the ticket counter without any hassle or headache,” said Debbie Smith, Deputy Director of Safety for Medford Airport.

July’s numbers are up 15-percent over January.
