Some evacuation levels downgraded near the Klondike Fire

JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. – Some residents who were told to evacuate due to the Klondike Fire in Josephine County are being notified it’s safe to return.

On August 22 at 1:00 p.m., the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office said the Level 3 (go) status was downgraded to a Level 2 (be set) for residences above milepost 2.5 on Illinois River Road up to, and including, McCaleb Ranch.

The section from McCaleb Ranch through Oak Flat will remain at Level 3.
