Trailer catches fire in Central Point

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — A trailer and nearby car caught fire early this morning in Central Point and are now a total loss.

Fire District Three responded to Corey Road just before ten this morning after a neighbor reported seeing smoke.

When firefighters arrived, the trailer and car were fully engulfed but crews were able to knock down the flames quickly.

“Right now because it’s expected to be a hot day just like we’ve seen over the last couple of months, crews are just really working to make sure it’s all completely wet down,” said Ashley Blakely, Public Information Officer, Fire District Three. “They’re putting foam down to make sure that we don’t have any start-ups later on today.”

Nobody was inside the trailer while it was burning and one person was able to evacuate safely.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Fire District Three are still investigating the cause of the fire.
