Trains running at night due to fire danger

0829 train tracksAshland, Ore. — You may have heard it yourself — trains running at night.

The City of Ashland says trains will be going through the town at night due to extreme fire danger.

Avoiding the steep grades of the Sisikiyous during the day significantly reduces the risks of fires.

Trains will return to their daytime schedule when fire season ends around October — or when the rains start.
