Tree falls on Applegate River Lodge

Jackson County, Ore. — A tree fell on a well-known Applegate eatery, but it won’t slow down business.

A large oak tree fell on the roof of the Applegate River Lodge Sunday night on the deck. No one was hurt.

The co-owner says it was a shock that the seemingly healthy tree came down. “In my eyes if I see a tree with brown leaves and so on, I would think it’s dead. We need to take attention to it. But in this case, as you can see the leaves are green and everything is going so it’s just a freak of nature,” said Joanna Davis.

The restaurant was closed but will reopen Wednesday. The deck area will be off limits until the tree is removed, which they hope can happen as soon as Wednesday.
