Trump to travel to border amidst government shutdown

McALLEN, Tex. (NBC News) – President Trump will travel to the border Thursday, continuing his public push for funds to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico.

The visit comes a day after talks between the White House and Democratic leaders seemed to fall apart, and as America enters day 20 of a partial government shutdown.

The president will get a security briefing on the border, during today’s visit to McAllen, Texas.
