Winter wine event brings together local food and wines

Gold Hill, Ore. — Local food and wine were paired on Saturday at Del Rio Vineyard’s annual Winter Wine Event. Over 20 Rogue Valley businesses were in attendance, offering everything from sweet treats to savory samples.

“It’s pretty incredible, how the local community, we can connect,” Lindsey Zagar said, an employee with Del Rio Vineyards. “We want to really support each other, and that’s kind of our theme of this event, support local by eating local, drinking local.”

Admission was $10 for members, and $15 for the general public. Each participant was given a wine glass for tasting, and tickets for food samples.

This is the 12th year of the winter wine event. Organizers say it’s grown every year, and it’s a tradition they’re excited to see expand even more into the future.
