Central Point, Ore. – A 2-year-old child and his father were sent to the hospital after two vehicles collided head-on in Central Point. The accident followed a separate crash along Blackwell Road that claimed the life of a child.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department says that the accident occurred at the intersection of Biddle Road and Table Rock Road on Friday evening.
Police say that 47-year-old Camejo Debus was driving under the influence of intoxicants when she turned left in front of another vehicle, causing a collision.
According to deputies, the other vehicle was occupied by a father and his 2-year-old son. They were both transported to the hospital following the accident. The child was later flown to OHSU with life-threatening injuries, but is now reported to be in stable condition.
Officers say the father of the child is also being investigated for driving under the influence.
