Douglas County, Ore. — Highway 138 near Elkton is open again after a 60-acre sparked Tuesday afternoon.
The Douglas Forest Protective Association said firefighters responded to to an area along Highway 138 West near milepost 6, roughly five miles south of Elkton.
DFPA said an engine arrived at the scene within five minutes. Crews were able to line the fire quickly and stop the spread. The Highway 138 West fire burned an estimated 60 acres.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
