Oakland, Oregon — An Oakland, Oregon man is in jail after being charged with murder.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a shooting on the 900 block of Winding Lane, around 10:00 Wednesday night.
Deputies say 28-year-old Michael Stark and 26-year-old Gary Heldstab got in an argument earlier in the evening. A short time later, Heldstab was shot and died on scene as a result of the wounds.
According to police, Heldstab is stark’s sister’s boyfriend.
Stark was arrested on scene and has been lodged at the Douglas County Jail on a murder charge.
