Common ground on gun control?

NC_politics0617_1500x845(NBC News) — The mass killing in Orlando has given new life to Washington’s war over gun control.

For the first time in recent memory, bi-partisan support of new gun control laws seems to be a possibility.

“I think something has happened,” says Florida Senator Bill Nelson.

The Senate will try next week to find common ground on the issue.

Senate Democrats want to ban gun sales to anyone on the terror watch list, while Republicans are holding out for a 72-hour wait to sort out a buyer’s status.

The two sides disagree on whether the government or courts should decide individual cases.
