Missing Douglas County man found deceased

1115-ralph-masuzumiUpdate (11/16/16 11:55 a.m.) — The body of Ralph Masuzumi was found inside his crashed vehicle on Wednesday, November 16th. The crash occurred around 4.5 miles up Burma Road in Azalea. Police said Masuzumi’s vehicle apparently left the roadway and went over an embankment. Deputies are continuing to investigate the crash.

Douglas County, Ore. – A 74-year-old Azalea, Oregon man was reported missing on Tuesday, November 15th, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Ralph Masuzumi failed to return home after visiting a friend who was camping on public land near Azalea. He was last seen shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Monday traveling on Burma Road toward Starveout Creek Road. Crews have been searching the area since around noon Tuesday.

DCSO said Masuzumi was driving a burgundy 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup truck with Oregon plates YWV539. He’s described as 5’9”, 170 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark cap, a wool lined plaid jacket, a white turtleneck, blue jeans and work boots.
