Downtown smoking ban being discussed in Ashland

Ashland, Ore. — Smoking could soon be no more in downtown Ashland, as the city council is considering an ordinance to ban smoking in that area.

Ashland Mayor John Stromberg will be hosting a listening session and invites the public to weigh in on the proposed ban.

Residents we talked to have mixed feelings on the issue. One person said it gets really annoying to walk through clouds of smoke, another person was of the opinion that it’s a coping mechanism for a lot of people.

The public meeting will take place March 16th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Ashland City Council Chambers.
