Elevated levels of E. coli in Ashland Creek

0513 Ashland Creek bacteriaAshland, Ore. — If you were heading to Lithia Park’s Ashland Creek this weekend you may not want to get too close.

Ashland Parks and Recreation said there’s an elevated level of E. coli bacteria.

They’re recommending no one wade, bathe, or swim in the creek or reservoir.

The closure could be lifted later in the summer as the department will continue to re-evaluate the water quality.
