MODESTO, Calif. – Residents of Modesto, California lined the streets to honor a police officer who was gunned down during a traffic stop.
Newman Police Corporal Ronil “Ron” Singh was shot the day after Christmas.
An honor guard and procession took place Friday as Singh’s body was transported from Modesto to Newman.
A suspect in the shooting, Paulo Virgen Mendoza, was charged with murder Wednesday.
