Families line Rogue River streets for Veteran’s Day parade

Rogue River, Ore. — Veterans Day is this Wednesday, but events here in the Rogue Valley are already kicking off this weekend.

This morning, members of the military, veterans and their families, and local organizations crowded the main street of Rogue River for a parade.

People drove cars, rode on floats, and walked the route at ten this morning.

Locals say it’s a great event to show support for our local vets.

“it was amazing, see all those warriors that were just fighting for our country, and our nation, it was exciting,” said Zachary Wyatt, watching with his grandfather.

“Yeah, and the one group that was from World War I, all the way through to now, that was great,” added Wyatt’s grandfather, veteran Neil Campbell.

We also asked young spectator Tanner what he thinks of the soldiers that fought for this country, “They saved the day.”

Following the parade, a barbecue was held at the VFW Canteen.

Today’s events were sponsored by the American Legion Post 69, VFW post 4116, the Missing in America Project and the Old Guard Riders.
