Douglas County, Ore. – A woman was killed in a violent crash near an Interstate 5 off-ramp just south of Roseburg.
Oregon State Police said a cargo truck was on the southbound I-5 off-ramp when it left the road and traveled down an embankment. It then crashed into a car that was traveling eastbound on Highway 42.
Troopers said the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the vehicles passengers was sent to the hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the cargo truck was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Police said the Highway 42 was closed for about 4 hours while the crash was being cleared. The cause is still under investigation.
