Rocky Road Fire burns near Trail

trail-fireTrail, Ore. — Multiple crews responded Wednesday afternoon to a wildland fire that burned north of Trail.

The Oregon Department of Forestry said the Rocky Road Fire burned an estimated 8 to 10 acres and threatened as many as 20 homes. However, no structures were lost.

Highway 227 is closed from Loper Lane to W. Fork Trail Creek Road. Firefighters said that as of 4:30 p.m., the threat was diminished due to reduced wind activity.

ODF said 3 helicopters, 1 retardant bomber, 4 ODF engines, and 3 water tenders helped to fight the fire.

Firefighters are worked into the evening to establish a fire line.
