Ashland, Ore. — The Southern Oregon University community is in mourning after the tragic death of the school’s former provost.

Earl Potter died in a single-vehicle crash Monday night in Minnesota.

Potter worked under S.O.U. president Elizabeth Zinser before he left in 2007 to take over as president of St. Cloud State University.

Coincidentally, Potter succeeded S.O.U. interim president Roy Saigo at St. Cloud State. All of us at NBC5 extend our sympathy to the potter family.
