Gap Fire update

0912-gap-fireSeiad Valley, Calif. — The Gap Fire in Northern California is continuing to near containment.

Firefighters said the fire has grown to nearly 32,800 acres and is 85% contained as of Monday night. The increase in acreage is from vegetation burning inside the fire lines.

Drivers can continue to expect closures and delays on Highway 96 near the fire.

Two meetings will be held this week, one Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Seiad Valley Fire Station. The other will be Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Horse Creek Community Church.
