Grants Pass, Ore. — A Grants Pass man is being held on $75,000 bail tonight after police say he killed another man while driving under the influence.
The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety said 31-year-old Jacob Zainfeld had gotten into a car crash with 72-year-old Jack Cornett on Redwood Highway on April 12th.
Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles. Cornett was pronounced dead at the hospital. Zainfield was transported to Emmanuel Hospital in Portland with serious injuries.
Zainfeld was arrested today after detectives say he was under the influence of opiates during the crash.
He’s facing several charges, including manslaughter, DUII, and assault.
