Nearly 20 firefighters from the Illinois Valley Fire District battled the two story house fire. It broke out about 4:00 Tuesday afternoon.
Oregon Caves Highway between mile marker 5 and 6 was closed down as crews battled the fire. Hot spots were being mopped up until late in the evening.
The condition of the person taken to the hospital and the cause of the fire are not known.
