Josephine County, Ore. – A home near Cave Junction was completely destroyed by a fire Thursday afternoon.
According to the Illinois Valley Fire District, emergency crews responded to reports of a structure fire on Caves Highway, 6 miles east of Cave Junction.
Firefighters said when units arrived they found a single story house fully engulfed in flames. A search of the residence reveled that nobody was inside at the time of the fire.
The IVFD said fire personnel were able to knock down the fire and conduct mop up operations. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
