Medford, Ore. — A local Girl Scout troop from Medford is doing something special to help young students who feel sad. They’re providing a buddy bench” for others who are feeling bullied or left out.
Ten scouts donated the buddy bench to Patrick Elementary School in Gold Hill.
According to Girls Scout Troop 32-156 if students see someone on the buddy bench, they are encouraged to sit with them or ask them to join in on activities.
The girls started building the bench last month by hammering, drilling, sawing and painting.
They chose to build the bench because they wanted to give something back to a school in need.
