Medford, Ore. — Kindergartners have a lot to look forward to this year with extra hours added to their school day.
This year will be the first for all day kindergarten, and Medford School District Superintendent Brian Shumate says this is just what kids need to get a jump start on their education, “we can have the kids for a full day and get them really started off on a good educational pathway and make sure they have all the skills they need as they progress through our school system.”
To help the little ones get adjusted to their new schedule, this week will be a soft open for all day kindergarten including testing and private meetings between teachers and their new students and parents.
