Starting Friday, Oregonians who find debris from the Japanese tsunami are asked to report it, by calling 2-1-1.
The Associated Press is reporting that Governor John Kitzhaber made the announcement late Thursday.
The new hotline will reportedly be staffed during business hours, and will take recorded messages at other times.
Meanwhile, Governor Kitzhaber is continuing to work at getting federal funding for clean up efforts.
