‘Batkid’ Miles Scott is back home after living out a dream of being Batman for a day, and saving Gotham City as part of a ‘Make A Wish’ come true.
In a town of about a thousand, Tulelake, California – lives an international celebrity…’Batkid’ Miles Scott.
He’s back home with his family, complete with souvenirs of being Batman for a day.
“I don’t think it’s really even set in for me yet.” Says ‘Batdad’ Nick Scott. “The scope of how big it got.”
San Francisco was transformed into Gotham City for a day to help Miles live out his dream…
And what’s the best part about being Batman
“Saving the world.” Says Miles ‘Batkid’ Scott.
‘Batmom’ Natalie Scott says she was surprised at her son’s reaction…
“He was kind of eating it all up, and I wasn’t expecting that from him at all – because he’s really shy.”
Batdad Nick Scott says some of the magic may be in the Batsuit…
“He put the mask on, and he was just in the character. And that’s what he’s done his whole life. He puts on costumes all the time, and just becomes whatever the costume he has.”
Miles is a cancer survivor.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the people of San Francisco made Miles’ wish to be Batman for a day come true.
“And the streets were lined with people, pretty much our whole drive.” Recalls Natalie Scott.
“And everybody was smiling, happy, jumping up and down with their phones out.” Adds Nick Scott. “And just to see a crowd of everybody excited, and happy.”
Miles remains shy…despite being an international celebrity.
“What superpowers do you have, or do you have any superpowers” We asked Miles…
“I don’t have any superpowers.”
But then, maybe Miles does have some superpowers.
An ability to give some hope to total strangers, and make the world smile.
‘Batkid’ has also caught the attention of ‘Batman’ actors Adam West, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Val Kilmer, and Christian Bale…all those actors have given the ‘Batkid’ high marks for his efforts at portraying the Caped Crusader.
