Better Business Bureau warns donors to lookout for bogus charities

Medford, Ore. — With relief efforts underway on some of our region’s wildfires the better business bureau is warning well intentioned donors to lookout for bogus charities.

They say to beware of demanding solicitors and dont give in to high-pressure tactics. Take time to research a charity and only donate to groups that have resources to make a difference.

Avoid cash donations and never give out credit cards over the phone.

Also, watch out for pop up charities that seem to spring up out of nowhere and be skeptical of social media memorial funds.
