Britt Business Boom

“Right now, I want to give you a live look as the 2012 Britt lineup is being announced on stage,” said NBC 5’s Larry Miller at theBritt Festival announcementonWednesday night.

We brought you live coverage of the britt 2012 lineup on Wednesday.

Bill Cosby, Melissa Etheridge, and Earth, Wind and Fire are just some of the groups that will be performing on the Britt Stage.

“We struck gold,” saidExecutive Director Donna Riggs.

The Festival is also gaining more business support. In fact, the business support this year is record breaking.

“In 2010, we had 30 business partnerships, this year we have over 65. We literally sold out of business partnerships for the first time in our 50 year history,” said Riggs.

The strong financial footing is a step in the right direction for the festival. Last year, they posted a 23-thousand dollar deficit.

This year, they are looking to move from the red into the black.

” We’re really grateful every year that we’re making strides to get back into the black,” said Sara King-Cole, Marketing Director for BrittFestival.

In addition to new musical acts and artist, britt patrons can expect new deals on seating.

“Where we know people are going to be on their feet instead of sitting onthe front lawn area and reserving four packs of blankets, we’re selling seats on an individual basis. We’re calling it a general admission pit,” explained King-Cole.

Under the direction of Donna Riggs, the organization has made significant changes to keep the organization alive and the patrons flocking to Jacksonville.
