Central Point police host 17th ‘D.A.R.E. Show and Shine’

SHOW N SHINE CP DARECentral Point, Ore. — The D.A.R.E. Show and Shine and Cruise took place all day on Saturday in Central Point.

Nearly 200 cars were out on display all day at Twin Creeks Park, before parading down Pine street. This is the 17th year of the event, put on the Central Point Police Department.

All of the activities going on Saturday alone financially supports the D.A.R.E program in Central Point schools year round.

“We incorporate the 13 week program of D.A.R.E into the elementary schools at all the fifth grade levels, and so that’s how we continue it, and that’s how we build our relationships with the younger people here,” said Central Point officer J.R. Godley.

Rogue Federal Credit Union sponsors the event.  The festivities continue until nine on Saturday.
