(Updated 11/5 2:30 p.m.) Central Point, Ore. — The Jackson County District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday that the grand jury had returned a 12-count Indictment charging Jeffrey Robert Zundel with the following: Counts 1-11- Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree being committed on or between March 1, 2015 and June 9, 2015 by unlawfully and knowingly subjecting another person to sexual intercourse and deviate sexual intercourse, and the other person is not legally capable of consenting by reason of being under 18 years of age. Count 12: Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree, committed on or between March 1, 2015 and June 9, 2015 by unlawfully and knowingly subjecting another person to sexual contact and the other person is incapable of consent by reason of being under 18 years of age.
Zundel is currently out of custody after posting bail and is expected to be appear in court on Friday, November 27th.
Central Point, Ore. — A Crater High School teacher is under arrest after police say he had sex with a minor.
Parents are shocked and so are students, many of them had no idea this had allegedly happened.
Jeffery Zundel teaches World Studies among other subjects at Crater High. Central Point Police say they responded to a report of sexual misconduct yesterday regarding Zundel and a student.
He is lodged in the Jackson County Jail and many parents couldn’t believe the news.
Zundel is facing charges of sexual abuse II & III, sodomy III and sexual delinquency of a minor.
We tried talking to the principal of the Renaissance Academy at Crater High School but they were unavailable for comment.
Central Point School District 6 stated in a press release that they cannot comment any further but that the well-being of all their students is the top priority.
