CVS says it will greatly expand over-the-counter sales of a drug that reverses overdoses of heroin and other opiates.
A growing number of states have passed laws widening access to naloxone.
Now CVS is expanding access to the fast-acting drug in 12 more states including California where the store will train pharmacists to sell the overdose-reversal drug without requiring a doctor’s note.
Many first responders also carry naloxone, including Medford and Ashland Police.
