Family remembers six-year-old who died in collision

Central Point, Ore. — The driver involved in a crash that killed her six-year-old daughter appeared in court for the first time Monday. 27-year-old Necia Hanson is facing manslaughter and DUII charges. Family members of the girl who was killed, 6-year-old Bella Keesee, said it doesn’t feel real that she’s gone.

Bella’s aunt, Tosha Keesee, said Bella was a daddy’s girl and a social butterfly. Bella was ejected from the vehicle in the crash in Central Point Friday night. Police said Hanson was under the influence of alcohol when she drove into oncoming traffic on Blackwell Road and collided with a semi-truck.

Hanson was not injured. Bella’s younger brother’s were also in the car. They suffered minor injuries. Police are investigating whether Bella was in a car seat or restrained at all.

Family members said Bella was the sweetest little girl. Just days after they set up a gofundme account they’ve raised more than $10,000 for funeral costs and money for the family. Family members call the support incredible, and said they’re thankful for for everyone who has stood behind them. Bella’s aunt says they haven’t had contact with Hanson, and they’re leaning on friends and family members to get through this difficult time.
