San Marcos, Texas — (KXAN)A Texas supermarket employee is a woman of many words, but the one she says most often at work has made her well known in the Austin area. Alicia Inns introduces us to a woman whose signature word is heard often and at full volume.
“Attention HEB shoppers.” There’s certain sounds you can hear inside a grocery store.
But don’t wait long and you’ll hear this. “Pizzaaaaa! Step on up girl, come on let’s eat!
Meet Sherlon Jackson. Unless you live in San Marcos, chances are, you already have.
To HEB shoppers, she’s known simply as “The Pizza Lady.” And shes got pipes you cant miss even from 25 aisles away.
“Three years ago these pizzas came into our store, they were not selling, they were not doin anything,” said Jackson.
Little did she know, one loud word, “pizzzzaaaa! and one hot pie would change it all. What was once a part-time gig turned into full-time fun. Now, she’s helped sell the most pizzas in the stores history.
“Three weeks ago when I broke my record of 300…I hit 366, exclaimed Jackson.
Wearing a hair net and a smile you can expect more than just a sample. As for Jacksons real inspiration, it comes in the form of her pint sized customers.
Pizzaaaa!”
The saying goes…choose a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.
“It’s fun. I’m enjoying it.” the pizza lady is proof. “Pizzzzzzaaaa! Pizza from the Pizza Lady.You can’t beat that.”
