Medford, Ore. — Some farmers and brewers are breathing a sigh of relief after the Food and Drug Administration decided to back off on tightening regulations for left-over grain.

Senator Ron Wyden sat down with leaders in the local beer and farm industries at Caldera Brewing in Ashland Thursday. He says the FDA was out of its element on this issue.

Many beer makers sell or give grain leftover from the brewing process to farmers, who use it as feed for cows or other animals. Brewers say the proposed regulations would have added to their costs without improving the safety of grain used to feed livestock.
