One very large Southern Oregon employer will be closed by the end of the year, leaving nearly 200 people without jobs.
Oregonlive.com is reporting Ferry-Morse Seed Co. has been purchased by Seed Holdings.
The paper says upon buying the company, Seed Holdings immediately let go of half of Ferry-Morse employees nation-wide, leaving 199 local workers unemployed.
The plant located in White City is expected to close by December 31.
Workers are expected to learn more about this on Tuesday morning.
