Final phase makes U.S. Cellular Park largest in the USA

Medford, Ore. — Medford Parks and Recreation broke ground on the fourth and final phase at U.S. Cellular Community Park announcing construction of three additional fields. Once complete, Medford will house the largest synthetic sports park in the country.

Bazter Construction is expected to complete the project by September of this year at a total cost of $32,480,300.

Phase four will include one full-size baseball/multipurpose field, two baseball/softball fields, 208 additional parking spaces, restrooms, landscaping, pathways and lights. With a total playing surface of 268,062 square feet and 1.368 million sq. feet of field turf, U.S. Cellular Community Park will be the largest installation in one park in the nation.

Parks officials highlighted the installation of specially shielded Musco Light Structures Green to keep the lighting of the fields on the turf.

The completed phase four will also allow for additional play time and make room for youth baseball and softball teams who otherwise wouldn’t have the play space.
