Fire at Biomass One burns neighboring business

White City, Ore., — Right now 25 people are out of work, following a fire at Biomass One that also burned another building.

Western Valley Cutstock is closed tonight, its building charred and water logged after the fire at Biomass One.

The Biomass fire started in a saw dust pile on the east side of the property last night.

Avenue G was closed for a time while firefighters tackled the flames.

The fire quickly grew to three alarms, and burned Western Valley Cutstock.

“For the most part we have a pretty good relationship unfortunately though the pile at its height and density creates a lot of problems for us, our field regularly catches on fire when they catch on fire.” said Western Valley Custock CFO Gary Trapp.

Trapp says this is the third time this summer Biomass has caught on fire, and the last time it happened they warned firefighters that it would happen again.

They’ll be closed all week as they clean up their shop.

Trapp says they are beginning to rebuild.

They have not yet heard from Biomass, he says they’d like an apology.

No injuries were reported.
