Eagle Point, Ore. — Fire rips through Eagle Point barn this morning, just feet away from Eagle Point High School.

Just after 9 a.m. fire crews responded to the 200 block of North Royal Ave. to find a barn completely engulfed in flames.

Five fire engines including a ladder truck were on scene dousing the structure.

One neighbor tells NBC5 News that the owners of the property are out of the state and have many family valuables in the barn.

Meanwhile, investigators are working to determine the cause. Fire officials say the barn, which sits at the back of a residential property directly behind Eagle Point High School, is a total loss.
