Giant Giants Fan

When you walk into Jack Barletta’s Branford, Connecticut home, you can tell he’s a Giants fan.

Then, when he starts showing you around, you quickly learn he’s more of a Giants fanatic.

Each room of his home is covered with Giants memorabilia.

This actually is the 10-yard line from Giant’s stadium. When they tore the stadium down, they offered a lot of the souvenirs that were parts of the stadium, so I asked if I could actually get the 10-yard line that I sat in front of, Barletta said.

He also got a pair of seats and scored the numbers of the chairs he sat in every season.

Barletta has been adding to his collection over the past few decades.

He said he became enamored with the Giants at a young age. It was the team his father rooted for.

I just, for some reason took off with me. I just became a fanatic and started to collect this stuff over the years at card shows and everything. Then when the Internet took off, with eBay and everything, it was so easy to start collecting it, said Barletta.

And he hasn’t stopped.

Even though the space is getting sparse, the walls keep filling up with flags, helmets, footballs and pictures.

Everybody tells you how valuable it could be, but that’s not really why I do it. It’s turned into a hobby. I love doing it. I’m a big Giant fan. I don’t know why it’s turned into this much of a passion for me, said Barletta.

As for the big game, Barletta will be able to see his favorite team firsthand.

He has a ticket to the Super Bowl, and although he won’t say who he thinks is going to win because he’s superstitious, we all know who he’s rooting for.
