Grants Pass, Ore. — A Grants Pass man with multiple sexual offense convictions is behind bars for life this morning.
On January of 2015, Keith Benson received his third conviction, rape in the first degree.
Oregon has a third strike sex offense law, the third time someone is convicted of a sexual offense they get life in prison without the possibility of parole and that’s exactly what Judge Pat Wolke ruled,”I think you are extremely dangerous, I have no confidence that after your release you would be safe not to re-offend.”
Josephine County DA Ryan Mulkins says Grants Pass and all of Oregon is safer with Benson serving life behind bars.
