Jackson County, Ore — Oregon State Police said a Grants Pass woman died after a car accident on Interstate-5.
Troopers say they were called to the wreck on the interstate near milepost 37, just north of Central Point, around 10 PM Friday night. They say a 2015 Nissan van, driven by Cornelius Crean, veered out of its lane, and rear-ended an international cargo truck.
The passenger, Grants Pass woman Wendy Richardson was critically injured. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Both people in the truck were treated for minor injuries. Police say they’re investigating distracted driving as a cause of the crash.
