Hearts with a Mission set to open in Grants Pass

HEARTS PICGrants Pass, Ore. — The second “Hearts with a Mission” location will soon open their doors in Grants Pass. Staff members are asking for the community’s help to make the shelter feel more like a home.

The building on Northeast Ninth Street was donated by First Community Bank earlier this year.

Since then, contractors and local businesses have also contributed their time and services, often at no cost to the non-profit. Now– they need your help to fill in the empty space.

“When you see all the details in your house, you can get the idea that it’s pretty daunting,” said Hearts with a Mission spokesperson Bruce Cox. “We’re going to have 9 bedrooms with 18 people.”

Hearts with a Mission houses homeless teens, ages 10 to 17.

The Grants Pass location is set to open in the next month. For more information on how to donate, contact the shelter at (541) 646-7385.
