TIMBER LAWSUITGRANTS PASS, Ore. — The Josephine County Board of Commissioners is endorsing a potential lawsuit against the federal government over timber harvest in Oregon.

Josephine County Commissioner Cherryl Walker has confirmed that the board is endorsing the potential litigation.

Representatives with the Association of O&C Counties say a lawsuit against the the Bureau of Land Management is a possibility, depending on the BLM’s upcoming decision on the annual timber harvest.

The O&C Counties are asking for an annual harvest of 500 million board feet of timber. The BLM will release their decision on timber production by this summer.
