Lightning Causes Fires To Start, Rain Helps To Extinguish

Lightning is the last thing fire fighters need right now, in the middle of a severe wildfire season.

Thursday’s lightning is responsible for causing a number of fires in our region, at least 8 on Oregon Department of Forestry land, 4 in Jackson County, and another 4 in Josephine County.

There is some good news though. Thedifference between last months lightning caused fires, that started our regions wildfiresand Thursday’s is rain!
